    Douthitt, John Elmer
    --- John Elmer Douthitt, 79, a retired self-employed auto mechanic of the
    Mt. Hebron community. Rt. 1, Leitchfield, died October 16,1982 at the
    Grayson County Hospital. / Mr. Douthitt served as a Grayson County constable
    for 20 years. / He was born December 20, 1902 in Breckinridge County, the
    son of William Douthitt and Ethel Harris Douthitt. He was the husband of
    Katie Clark Douthitt, of Mt. Hebron. / Survivors other than his wife include
    five sons: Hayward of Clarkson; Ronald of Rt. 4, Leitchfield; and William,
    Robert and James of Rt. 1, Leitchfield; one daughter, Deloris K. Paulin, of
    Louisville; and one sister, Mae Hockersmith, of Salvisa, Ky. Twenty-four
    grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren also survive. / Funeral services
    were held October 19 at the Mt. Hebron Gospel Mission Church by Rev. Rex
